Emberly graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011 with Honors and was inducted into the Ames Iowa Chapter of Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. She then moved with her children to Phoenix, Arizona and earned her Master of Science in Licensed Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2015. Emberly was initially licensed as an Associate Counselor (LAC) in Arizona in 2016, while completing credits toward earning a Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology from Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2018, Emberly Moved to Des Moines, Iowa and received temporary licensure as a Mental Health Counselor while obtaining necessary practice hours for independent licensure. In 2020 she earned her independent licensure to practice counseling in Iowa.
In 2019, Emberly completed training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has experienced great success with clients whom have developed mental health illness, and substance addictions, due to traumatic events. She has worked extensively with adults and adolescents, providing assessment for readiness of trauma therapy, as well as preparation through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Desensitization of Urges and Triggers (DeTurs) for Substance Abuse relapse prevention.
In 2020, Emberly became Board Certified and was awarded the title of National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board of Certified Counselors and earned her independent licensure in the state of Iowa as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Emberly enjoys working with her clients and often shares her love of Psychology through Psychoanalysis with them and intends to continue to pursue completion of her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
